1. How do customers send you the texts to be translated?
In order to avoid any eventual incompatibility, we suggest you send your documents in standard Microsoft Word format. However, we can translate files in other formats; the most common are Microsoft PowerPoint and Microsoft Excel. We can also translate certain PDF files. Check with us.
If the text is only available in paper, you can send it to us by fax or, if it is a long document, by post or courier. Another option is to scan the text and send it by email.
In any other instances, check with us to find a solution.
2. How will you deliver the completed translation?
Our experience has proved the email to be the most efficient and quick method to send and receive the translations as attached files.
If you deem it more convenient, however, we can also send you the documents by post, courier or fax, in the format you prefer (CD, DVD or hard copy).
3. What types of translations can you do?
Informative, general texts.
Any document your company may issue, like letters, quality manuals, catalogues, multilingual mailings, presentations, faxes, advertising texts...
Scientific or technical texts: research papers, articles and publications in specialized press, technical manuals...
4. How much is it to get a quote for a translation?
Send us the text you would like translated and in a matter of hours (even minutes in most cases) we will give you a free, no obligation written quotation.
When requesting a quote, please send us the text to be translated as an email attachment, state the target language (the language you need the text translated into), and inform us of the desired deadline if that is an issue.
5. Does it cost the same to have something translated into Catalan or Spanish as it does to have something translated into English?
No. Rates are higher for translations into English than into Spanish or Catalan, due to internal productivity matters.
6. How do you figure out the price of a translation?
Basically, we charge a rate per word from the original (or source) text. This rate varies according to the language combination, from and into which language the translation is. Thus text length and languages are the first aspects to be taken into account.
The cost of a translation also depends on the nature of the text, its degree of difficulty. For example, if the text is a list of words or a glossary, if it is highly technical or deals with a difficult subject, the cost of the translation will be higher.
There is also a surcharge when the original text is a manuscript, a hard copy or is given in a non editable format (PDF, etc.), is it contains images, graphs or other elements, if the software used is not among the most common, or if the text must be converted in any way. Likewise, an extra charge may be in place if the translated text is requested in a format other than a soft copy attached to an email message (if the client needs a hard copy, or requires it faxed or on CD or DVD, for example).
The time-frame is equally important, since you can expect an extra charge for tight deadlines.
Also, take into account that there is a minimum fee applied to translations that are unusually short. Contact us for more information on this.
7. How long does a translation take?
You should generally allow for about 1,000-2,000 words per business day (about 3-5 pages). We may be able to give priority to your translation if you need in less time than is usual, for which we charge additional rush fees.
Even if the requested translation is short, our minimum turn-around time is 2 working days. We need to keep to our planned schedules and manage each incoming project. Still, we will do our best to suit your needs.

9. What kind of clients do you service?
We have clients from a wide range of business sectors who require our translation services regularly.
We also have individual customers, who usually ask for sporadic translations.
10. What are the payment options you offer?
Cash payment is requested from all our clients (payment is settled upon receipt of the translation and accompanying invoice).
The payment methods we accept are: bank transfer or bank deposit (into the account number found on the invoice), and cheque.
A good translation does not just convey the same meaning, but it gets the music of the words right.
